Chuck Taylor or All Stars are a line of canvas and rubber shoes produced by Converse.

They were first produced in 1917 as Converse's attempt to enter the basketball shoe market.

They became very popular following the choice of American basketball player Chuck Taylor to adopt them as his favourite footwear.

It is for this reason that after some small changes in 1932 the shoe took its current name and was given Chuck Taylor's signature.

For the rest of his life, Chuck lived as a basketball ambassador for Converse, traveling across America, inspiring young people, teaching his love for the game. They were the leading basketball shoe until the 1970s. Thousands of players from every league and nationality wore them. In the NBA, Wilt Chamberlain's low black All-Stars became very famous.

In the seventies and eighties many musicians and singers of rock, heavy metal, hard rock, punk rock, etc. bands habitually wore these shoes.

So over the years these shoes have also spread among young fans and the mass public. Even today they remain a "must-have" without equal.
